Fundraiser for Injured DC

Note from Eventing Nation:

Fundraiser is for Colleen Cobia, who is the DC for the Wasatch Pony Club, the organizer for Golden Spike Horse Trials in Utah, and a great asset to Area IX.  Colleen was schooling a young horse before heading to Lexington for the Pony Club Nationals, and she was bucked off.  She has a severe spinal cord injury and is currently is currently paralyzed from the chest down.  The good folks of Area IX are are putting a on an eBay fundraiser, including some Rebecca Farm posters signed by many riders, officials, and coaches.  Click here and here to bid on the posters and Eventing Nation wishes Colleen a speedy recovery.  --Cimarron Region sends our best wishes also!

Founders Award Nominations Deadline: May 1, 2011

The following is posted for the Advisory Committee

*The Advisory Committee needs your help as we prepare to recommend to the
Board of Governors the name or names of candidates for the Founders
Award. This prestigious award is presented to those persons, still living,
who have been active volunteers in USPC for at least 20 years and who have
served on the national level. Examples of national level volunteer service
would be to have served as a Board of Governors member or sat on a national
level committee. Ideally, such a person should also have made a significant
contribution to Pony Club in his or her Region and/or local Registered Club.

* If you would like to nominate a person who meets these high standards,
please use the nomination form that is found on the USPC Forms page under
"F" for Founders Award Nomination or by using this link:

http://www.ponyclub.org/resource/resmgr/general_administration/foundersaward.pdf

*Nominations should be sent to the National Office, attention Connie Jehlik
as soon as you can complete the form. We have a deadline of May 1, 2011 for
accepting nominations but will be flexible for those applications that might
be submitted past this date. We establish a deadline because there is a lot
of planning, including gathering information on those guests that the
recipients would like present to share in this honor with them. *

*We thank you in advance for taking the time to nominate that special
dedicated volunteer*.

*Gegi Winslett and Jan Goodmundson on behalf of the Advisory Committee *
